S1000D Authoring
S1000D covers all areas on what is required for the development and delivery of technical publications as either a PDF or Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP).
TIM Consulting understand the importance of the Schemas used by S1000D and ensuring that you know what information can be entered in each of the Schemas. TIM Consulting have training for the Schemas available in S1000D Issue 5.0 and 6.0. To help you to learn how to author S1000D XML content the training has been broken down into the categories of:
- Introduction
- Advanced
- Expert
All of the authoring topics that are available are "hands on" and you are required to complete exercises for each topic. The instructors are able to help you understand how to create the S1000D XML content. As the training is "hands on" you will need an XML authoring tool to complete the training.
Introduction
The Introduction course is designed for authors who are new to XML or new to S1000D. This course takes you through the basics of what is XML and S1000D. The focus of this course is working with:
- Identification and Status Section of all Schemas
- Descriptive Schema
- Procedural Schema
- Crew Schema
- Illustrated Parts Data (IPD)
TIM Consulting has identified the Descriptive, Procedural, Crew and IPD as the Schemas as most projects required. At the completion of this course, authors will have an understanding of what is required to author the core content for the project.
Advanced
The Advanced course is designed for experience authors who need to understand other Schemas that are available in S1000D. Each of the Schema listed in the course outline can be selected, depending on the project's requirements.TIM Consulting recommends that you have a working knowledge of the Introduction course content before attending to any of these topics.
Expert
The Expert course is designed for authors who need to be able to understand and create management Schema content. Each of the topics listed can be selected. To be able to complete the Expert content, it is recommended that you have a working knowledge of a minimum of 3 Schemas covered in the Advancec Course.
